Class Description:This 2 day class will focus on creating sculptural bird beads using a
variety of techniques. Demonstrations will include forming simple sculptural
birds and moving to more complex forms. Techniques will include color mixing
and overlays, encasing, assembling canes, precise dot and stringer
placement, and subtle use of heat to control form and pattern.

Kim Fields began making glass beads in 1999 after an introductory lampworking class led her to the book, “Making Glass Beads” by Cindy Jenkins. She attributes her beadmaking skills to great teachers including Sage and Tom Holland, Leah Fairbanks, Loren Stump and several other accomplished beadmakers. Lampworking has brought Kim tremendous joy and she continues to explore new techniques in order to evolve as a beadmaker.
