About this Instructor:
Margo has always been interested in beads, jewelry,
glass and anything shiny and has really indulged her
passion for the past four years. She works in bead
weaving, wire-wrapping, polymer clay and glass
fusing. New to torch work, Margo is always creating
new designs in which to incorporate her many
creations.
Artist Statement:
I have always held a great appreciation for the
beauty around us - the variety of colors and
textures. My work incorporates these subtleties of
hues, shapes and designs. Indeed, regardless of the
design I have chosen, I find that the items create
themselves, becoming what the components dictate -
above and beyond what I see for them. My joy is
allowing these to come 'to life' on their own and
honoring the final creation.
I believe that every piece should have a bit of
'fire' in it... some part that glitters and catches
the attention, but at the same time, holistically
pulls together the entire design without distracting
from any one portion of it. Some pieces are
whimsical, others dramatic while others more
subdued. However, each reflects the joyful space in
which they were created.
Helping students to connect to their inner artist
and unlock their creativity brings me great joy as
teaching is as much a passion for me as my jewelry.
My classes are fun and highly interactive - a safe
haven for learning and a pleasant way to spend part
of a day.
